Hong Kong and Taiwan Based.
Jasmine Cheung (b.1992) based in Taiwan and Hong Kong, is a curator-artist, and director/producer (stage and film). Influenced by Hiroshi Sugimoto and Sophie Calle, studying Contemporary Visual Culture and Practice (MFA) at the National Taiwan University of Art, former Gallery Operation Supervisor and Programme Coordinator at Taikwun Contemporary (Hong Kong).
Cheung researches how artist establishes ‘authorship’ through autobiographical works and artists' presence in relation to the work. She often depicts human emotions and vulnerabilities through the documentation of personal lives and dreams, using images, words, and writing as first-person expressions, believing that a "voice" emerges when a person reads and that words (writing) are the beginning of the voice.
Also experienced in, Art Director, Production Design, Film Production, and Project Management (Public Programme, Stage, Film), by researching and developing thematic and site-specific ideas.
