Jasmine Cheung (b.1992) based in Taiwan and Hong Kong, is a curator-artist, and director/producer (stage and film). Influenced by Hiroshi Sugimoto and Sophie Calle, studying Contemporary Visual Culture and Practice (MFA) at the National Taiwan University of Art, former Gallery Operation Supervisor and Programme Coordinator at Taikwun Contemporary (Hong Kong).

Cheung researches how artist establishes ‘authorship’ through autobiographical works and artists' presence in relation to the work. She often depicts human emotions and vulnerabilities by documenting personal lives and dreams, using images, words, and writing as first-person expressions, believing that a "voice" emerges when a person reads and that words (writing) are the beginning of the voice. Kougengaku is her recent MFA research, returning to the histoire evenementielle (history of events) of a specific era as observed through purely object observation, analysing the significance of Asian contemporary art in visual culture and sociology.
